Stakeholder Notice: Mirimbah Park 14 February 2019

Road and drainage improvement works will be undertaken at Mirimbah Park, Mt Buller, progressively from 15 February 2019 until late April 2019. These works will include repair of the existing gravel access road and improvements to the stormwater drainage infrastructure to address poorly-drained areas currently affecting park amenity during wet weather.

The planned park improvement works will have the following benefits:

  • Improved stormwater drainage generally around the park.
  • Improved wet weather access to the park by repair of the gravel access roads.
  • Improved traffic management through placement of rocks to control vehicle access.
  • Rehabilitation and strengthening of the grassed surface to reduce damage during wet weather.
  • Reduced erosion by providing better control of stormwater runoff.
  • Improved amenity and level of service for park users through improved park drainage and access.

Works will be progressed in stages over the coming months to minimise disruption to park users and to ensure that the park is available for use over Easter and for planned events such as ‘Picnic in the Park’. While works are in progress access to sections of the park will be controlled through use of temporary fencing/bollards to maintain public safety. Park users are requested to keep clear of these work areas.

Please contact Kirsten Alexander, Projects & Infrastructure Manager at Mt Buller Resort Management on (03) 5777 7200 with any queries regarding these works.
